Snow Event and Update for Newington Heights Residents
UPDATE, 2:00PM, JANUARY 3, 2022:
As of 2pm today, we have been informed that this snow event is proving to be very difficult and Blade Runners is confronting several difficulties beyond their control.  Many staff cases of Covid have affected manpower and currently a power line has fallen across a nearby street trapping production trucks and 35 employees at the shop which has no power.  VDOT roads have not been treated and considered unsafe to send plow crews out on the roads.

Consequently, Blade Runner will not be servicing our property during the day today.  It is likely  that once the roads are treated, plow trucks will begin rolling out to our community overnight.  We ask for your patience and understanding.

11:00AM, January 3, 2022:
Blade Runners Snow Central has informed our management company that based on the current snowing conditions and the timeline of the event, they are in a holding pattern until the event stops and it is safe to start work.  Once whiteout conditions stop and it becomes safer, they will deploy teams to start plowing/clearing our streets and follow up with a post treatment of ice control. The post-treatment ice control is conditioned upon the temps and possible refreeze of cleared areas. The schedule through the end of the day January 4, is below:

* Roadways - clearing / plowing:  today into tomorrow 1/3 - 1/4

* Roadways - post-treatment Ice Control:  today into tomorrow 1/3 - 1/4

All able residents are asked to clean areas of the sidewalk that run along the length of your property. Please be considerate of your neighbor who may be sick or physically unable to shovel snow. Clearing the front of your homes makes it safe for everyone, including food, postal, and package delivery people.

Blade Runners and Management will continue to monitor area conditions and will keep you updated as needed.
